On this page are featured various Irish Setters bred at Gwendariff. Hopefully this will give you an insight into the type of Irish Setters we look to produce.

All our breeding stock are PRA and CLAD clear and Hip Scores are all well below average for the Breed. DNA profiling is now also being undertaken by us.

To date we have owned or bred a total of nine Champions (both UK and Irish Champions) as well as two other CC winners and many UK Stud Book entrants. Best In Show winning stock now span over three generations at both Championship and Breed Championship shows in UK and Ireland.

All our dogs are first and foremost much loved family pets – they are just fortunate enough to be quite good looking as well!

At Gwendariff the two Q words are always uppermost in our minds when breeding – QUALITY…. NOT QUANTITY; that is, quality of type, of construction and of soundness but also very importantly quality of temperament.

Not all puppies have a show career planned for them and many Gwendariff pups find themselves great families to lavish all their energies and affections on – so temperament is of paramount importance to us both in our pet puppies and in our show puppies.
